⚠ Write speeds are affected by the OS write-back cache — the OS accepts data into RAM and returns instantly, making writes look much faster than actual disk speed. Use 256 MB+ file size to exhaust the cache and see real write throughput. The benchmark tracks speed per 16 MB chunk and reports the "floor" (post-cache speed) separately from the cached peak. Read speeds use cache-busting by default.
